Acupuncture sessions can not only help your physical well-being but also can improve the overall balance of your body and your state of mind. Patients can experience a more balanced emotional state after they have undergone acupuncture sessions (Wang, 2022) One of the main aims of acupuncture is to bring balance and harmony to the mind and body. Sometimes you may just feel lacking in energy, have poor sleep patterns, have a stressful job, poor diet, or find it hard to relax and switch off, then acupuncture can be a good way to bring the balance back. When you can balance and improve the flow of energy in your body, thereby positively affecting your state of mind and your physical state. (Wang, 2022)


Advocates of acupuncture for weight loss posit that acupuncture can stimulate the body’s energy flow (chi) to impact factors that can reduce or reverse obesity such as:


  • increasing metabolism

  • reducing appetite

  • lowering stress

  • affecting the part of the brain that feels hunger

  • Weight gain, according to traditional Chinese medicine, is caused by body imbalance. That imbalance, according to ancient teachings, can be caused by a malfunctioning:


  • liver

  • spleen

  • kidney

  • thyroid gland

  • endocrine system
